New Zealand White Rabbit

“New Zealand White Rabbit” are available through our facilities in the pune region, India.

The New Zealand white rabbit strain was obtained in 1991 by Charles River Canada (CRC) from Kitayama Labs K.K. of Nagano Prefecture, Japan. Charles River adheres to strict biosecurity practices when breeding our New Zealand White (NZW) rabbits to ensure the highest standards in health and genetics.

Group housing of New Zealand White rabbits provides increased opportunities for exercise, social contact, and more natural behavior while accommodating the limitations imposed by experimental conditions.

New Zealand White Rabbits are often used by researchers working in antibody production and conducting behavioral, ophthalmology, pharmacology, toxicology, cardiovascular, immunology, and oncology studies. This model is also used in general studies.
The colony is maintained in a full barrier with an SPF status, and our New Zealand White Rabbits are free of New Zealand White Rabbits Cytomegalovirus (GpCMV).

Colony health testing is performed according to FELASA recommendations.
